Ingredients - All recipes for a 60 lbs. dog
  • 1 pound fresh or frozen salmon fillet (Thaw salmon first if working with frozen.)
  • 1 cup cooked peas (I recommend a steamable bag or canned (ensure it has no or low sodium).)
  • 1 cup butternut or yellow squash, peeled, deseeded, and diced (You can also toss in a food processor instead of manually mashing. Seeds and skin can irritate a pups tummy.)
  • 1 cup cooked brown rice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
  1. Cook the Salmon

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the salmon fillet on a lined baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork. Remove any skin and bones, then flake the salmon into bite-sized pieces.

  2. Cook the Squash

Peel and deseed the squash first. Dice squash.

Steam or boil the diced squash until tender. You can use a steamer basket or boil in a pot with water until easily pierced with a fork. Once cooked, mash the squash into a smooth consistency. Alternatively, you can also toss into a food processor for 10-15 seconds.

  3. Prepare Peas

Follow instructions on package to heat the peas, set aside.

  4. Cook Brown Rice

Prepare the rice as directed on the package. Once it's ready, set it aside and allow it to cool.

  5. Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the flaked salmon, mashed squash, peas, brown rice, and olive oil. Mix thoroughly to ensure an even distribution of flavors.

  6. Serve

Serve the Squash n' Splash Salmon as a standalone meal or mix it with your dog's regular food. Ensure the food is at room temperature before serving.

Portion Sizes: Adjust portion sizes based on your dog's size, activity level, and dietary requirements. Consult your veterinarian for personalized feeding recommendations.

Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. You can also freeze portions for longer storage.
