Description

The timeless question of chicken or egg takes a delightful twist for your furry friend with this fun take on checkin salad. Shredded chicken, chopped eggs, and a crisp celery medley blend seamlessly with creamy Greek yogurt and a touch of olive oil, creating a tail-wagging twist of flavors.

Ingredients - All recipes for a 60 lbs. dog
  • 2 cups cooked and shredded chicken (boiled or baked)
  • 4 hard-boiled eggs, peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup cooked and finely chopped veggies (Carrots, green beans, or peas)
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (Unsweetened and without artificial additives)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1 pinch turmeric (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cooked organs-optional (see FAQs for more info)
  • 1 teaspoon Supplements-optional (see FAQs for more info)
Instructions
  1. Prepare the Chicken and Eggs

Stovetop: In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Chop up the chicken and cook in the skillet, turning occasionally, until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F, approximately 15-20 minutes.

Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F. Arrange chopped up chicken pieces in a baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Set aside and allow to cool. 🍗🍳

Prepare hard-boiled eggs while the chicken is cooking.

    Once cooked, shred the chicken.

  2. Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, chopped hard-boiled eggs, finely chopped veggies, and finely chopped celery.

  3. Add Yogurt and Olive Oil

Add the plain Greek yogurt and olive oil to the bowl. Mix everything together until well combined. The yogurt adds creaminess, while the olive oil provides healthy fats.

  4. Optional Additions

If desired, add pre-cooked and prepared organ meat and supplements. You can also add a pinch of turmeric for potential anti-inflammatory benefits (ensure it's safe for your specific dog).

  5. Serve and Enjoy

Serve the batch of chicken, egg, and celery salad in your dog's bowl. You can serve it as is or mix it with their regular kibble for a tasty twist. Ensure it's at a comfortable temperature for your pup.

Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days. Discard any remaining portions after this time.

Note: Always check with your veterinarian before introducing new ingredients into your dog's diet, especially if they have known food allergies or sensitivities. Adjust portion sizes based on your dog's size and dietary needs.
