Ingredients - All recipes for a 60 lbs. dog
Instructions
-
Brown Ground Beef/Turkey
In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and sauté until browned. Drain oil. Place into a bowl and set aside, allowing to cool. Chop up the ground meat, I like to throw into the food processor for ~10 seconds.
Once cooled dump into a very large bowl where you will be putting all ingredients to combine together eventually.Â
-
Cook Rice
Prepare the rice as directed on the package using the beef broth instead of water. Once it's ready, set it aside and allow it to cool while you complete the next steps.
Once cooled dump into a the large bowl with ground meat.Â
If making this recipe 1x, then you would use one cup uncooked rice with two cups of broth to make three cups of cooked rice. -
Heat Vegetables and Beans
Heat mixed vegetables and beans according to packaging/can. Chop into bite-sized pieces. I like to throw into a food processor for ~10 seconds.
Once cooled dump into a the large bowl with rice and ground meat.Â
-
Combine Ingredients in Large Bowl
Put all of the ingredients into a large bowl if you haven't already. Pour the olive oil generously over top of the mixture.
Stir and combine well.
If you are adding supplements or organ meat, now is the time to add those. -
Cool and Serve/Store
Ensure the meal has cooled enough and serve!
Package it up: For a 60 lbs dog I recommend 2 cups per meal, assuming twice a day feedings.
I put two cups into each freezer bag or storage container per portion. Once all portioned out, I place three days worth into the refrigerator and the rest in the freezer.Â
I recommend pulling the food from the freezer AT LEAST 24 hours in advance. If needed, you can microwave, but check for hot spots and add some water to equalize the temperature.Â
